Automotive nonwovensThe big money in the automotive world seems to rest in developing more fuel efficient cars.  When you consider that a lighter body weight helps maximize fuel efficiency, nonwovens are a fantastic choice for automotive design.

According to a December 4, 2013 article by Tim Wright in Nonwovens Industry, there are currently approximately 40 applications for nonwovens inside automobiles with even more applications being developed for vehicle exteriors.

Fast, flexible nonwoven manufacturers are a benefit to the automotive industry for several reasons, including:

  • Finding solutions.  Maybe you're looking to customize interior seating with nonwovens.  A good manufacturing partner will help you analyze exactly what you need and test out solutions to find something that works for your end product.
  • Meeting deadlines.  There are a lot of components that go into making an automobile come off the line with everything in working order.  You want to be sure you find a partner who can meet your deadlines.  No excuses.
  • Production. Not all manufacturers can provide the amount of material you need.  Some can't allow for small runs.  Some can't allow for larger runs.  Pick a manufacturing partner who can produce the amount of nonwoven material right for your project.

Nonwovens in the automotive industry are here to stay and innovative solutions will mean that automotive nonwovens will continue to increase.
